Connected tourism
We have designed the hackathon specifically for this day. Through custom designed playing cards, we provide you with clues and insights into technology, data and tourism behavior, and you get to connect the dots, to design the tourism innovation of tomorrow.

Come join us for an energetic event, where we will challenge an industry which is ripe for innovation and digitalization.

In Denmark the tourism industry alone, has an annual turnover of more than 139 billion DKK, and it is the 4th largest export business. This might sound like a lot, but the potential is even bigger - as the industry is facing several challenges. The good news is that we already have identified the challenges, and the time is overdue a change.

The tourism industry is probably the most fun business area in which to create new solutions, filled with happy people, where a good concept can be scaled to the whole world.

What’s in it for me? You might ask. I am glad you asked, well;

• The winning group wins 10.000 DKK.
• You will be coached and guided by Lasse Chor and Jarle Kondrup, the most experienced hackathon experts in Denmark.
• You will get credentials to your resume, as you have used your competencies and skills to solve specific challenges.
• You will get insights into some of the newest trends, which might make your jaw drop.
• You will get the opportunity to create new solutions in an important industry.
• You will get the opportunity to network with participants, judges, gurus, and facilitators.
• You and your team might strike gold, and develop one or more concepts, that can be used to accelerate your own start-up. (If you choose to take your idea further.)

You do NOT need to be an expert within tourism, trends or technology. Do you get ideas often, like to collaborate with peers and want to challenge yourself? Then this is for you. We will provide the knowledge of tourism, as well as an energetic and fun process, which will get you, your team, and your concept flying high. 

How can I participate?
Please join us! The future is created by those who are passionate about it. Whether they are a students or not. As long you are more than 18 years old, you are more than welcome – no matter what job you have or what school or field of study you attend. We believe that the more diverse study programs the better.

It’s free? Seriously?!
Yes, we aren’t joking. Thanks to our sponsors we will provide the participants with free food, snacks, drinks, and a place to sleep if you don’t live nearby. Furthermore, there will be mentors, experts and judges, who’s job is to help YOU.

What if I don’t know much about the challenge subject?
No problem. There will be several experts present, which will help you understand the issues and challenges the industry is facing today. You can also use the experts if you need to discuss your idea in relation to the industry.

Do I need to have a team?
No. You are welcome to join the hackathon both with and without a team – lots of participants will join without a team. We’ll help everybody find a team. We recommend teams of 4-5 people.

Do you pay for transportation?
Yes.

What do I need to bring?
Laptop, phone, charger, and a well-rested, open mind.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?
Yes. We provide sockets and Wi-Fi.

What do I need to do before?
Nothing – other than signing up – and look forward to an amazing day.
